The Girl on the Train

Pump House Theatre Company

The Pump House Theatre Company is proud to present this powerful drama this month; continuing its mission to bring diverse, challenging and entertaining productions to audiences in the area.

The play, based on the book by Paula Hawkins, is a gripping psychological thriller that delves into the complexities of human relationships and the impact of trauma. Its heroine, Rachel, is a miserable, alcoholic divorcee who gazes at a seemingly perfect couple in a house she passes every day when she commutes by train between London and suburbia.

Rachel Wagstaff and Duncan Abel adapted the book for the stage and the world premiere took place at the Courtyard Theatre (West Yorkshire playhouse) in May/June 2018 staring Jill Halfpenny as Rachel Watson. The film version was released in 2016 and was actually set in New York (as opposed to London as per the book).

Please note that the play contains some bad language, scenes involving violence and adult themes.
