The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time

Rickmansworth Players

Pump House Theatre

A smash hit in the West End, Rickmansworth Players are proud to be staging the critically acclaimed and award winning play The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, adapted by Simon Stephens and based on the novel by Mark Haddon.

Join us as we enter the curious mind of Christopher Boone. He has an extraordinary brain - exceptional at maths, however he struggles to interpret everyday life. When he falls under suspicion of killing Mrs Shears' dog Wellington, he starts investigating and writing a book about the events in order to solve the mystery of the murder. But his detective work, forbidden by his father, takes him on a frightening journey that tears apart his once familiar world.

The play features a strong focus on projection, lighting, sound and physical theatre to bring to life both the detective story and Christopher’s experiences and state of mind. This production will immerse the audience in the story to help them experience all the humour, compassion and unpredictability of this charming play.

We are also pleased to be able to offer a ‘relaxed performance’ at the matinee on Friday 10th May, where elements of the play will be adapted to make it more welcoming to audience members who may find the full performance overwhelming or stressful.

Directed by Victoria Flowers, this amateur production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd. on behalf of Samuel French Ltd. www.concordtheatricals.co.uk
